This church, which is the oldest one of Arequipa (1739), is located in the south-east corner of the Main Square. Its amazing façade and its patio made with finely carved stone are a delight for the eyes. This church has 3 naves with its cupolas and far inside, an altar covered with golden leaves with Churrigueresque style, a kind of Spanish baroque style. The patio is now a commercial center in which you can find clothes made with very good alpaca wool. The San Ignacio Chapel, adjoining, the multicolored cupola, is decorated with murals including flowers, fruits, birds from Amazonia, warriors and cherubs.
